Killzone 2 Review

Now this is a game that takes itself seriously. No wait, that’s not true. That is how it was marketed. “Now this is a serious ass shooter, from a serious ass developer, that is going to offer a serious ass experience.” Then Killzone 2 comes out, I play it and realize that it is nothing but another meat head game. Which is ok, but it was not quite as realistic as billed. The controls where sluggish, as it was supposed to make the gamer ‘feel’ like they are a real soldier, when all it did was piss people off. Thankfully after going back into Killzone 2 ( I have yet to finish the single player), Guerrilla altered the movement speed of the controls. Now Killzone 2 plays much more like Call of Duty, and that is something I can get behind.
The real star of Killzone 2 is the multi-player, hands down. I am sure by now you heard that you can (this is going to shock you), level up your different classes. While the leveling experience lasts, it is a fucking blast. However I leveled all my classes up within a week of purchasing this game on launch day, and kind of petered out on playing Killzone. After the control scheme changed I am going to finish the single player and get right back into the addicting multiplayer. This is another must purchase PS3 title. (Even if it is not the Halo 3, Gears of War killer it was promised to be.)
8 fistings out of 10
